4. Universal Hanging Guidelines & Rules of Thumb

  1. Inter-Panel Spacing:

    • Standard spacing: 2 inches (5 cm) between panel edges.

    • Small panels (12×16 / 30×40 cm): 1.5 to 2 inches (4–5 cm).

    • Large panels (20×30 & 24×36 / 50×75 & 60×90 cm): 2 to 3 inches (5–7.5 cm).

  2. Sofa / Furniture Ratio:

    • The total footprint width of the multi-panel set should occupy 60% to 75% of the underlying furniture width (sofa, bed headboard, or console).

  3. Eye-Level Mounting:

    • Center point of the overall arrangement should sit approximately 57 to 60 inches (145–150 cm) from the floor.

    • Maintain a clearance of 6 to 10 inches (15–25 cm) between the bottom edge of the canvases and the top of a sofa or headboard.
